Silver Tips Tea Room is in Tarrytown, New York, about 35 minutes north of Manhattan, in Westchester County.  Tarrytown is one of the famous River Towns on the Hudson and a significant tourist attraction for the area.

Our Tea Room is now a part of the community and we have a loyal customer base.   It is both a restaurant and a meeting place, a Tea Room and a Salon.

We carry over 150 varieties of tea and have an eclectic but substantial menu.  “Afternoon Tea” is available all day, everyday.  We have been part of our customers’ lives through their anniversaries, birthday parties, showers, baptisms, group meetings, Book Clubs and Garden Clubs.   We exhibit the artwork of our local artists.  We contribute to local events.  We carry everything you may need to make a perfect cup of tea.  We organize special events such as Tea Tasting Sessions and even Comedy Nights which usually sell out.
Our Mission Statement

To provide a perfect cup of tea

To deliver consistently good food & service

To educate customers about all aspects of tea

To make every visit memorable

We believe in the "democratization" of tea.  We deliberately designed our Tea Room not to be too feminine or Victorian.   Located in the heart of historic Tarrytown, we appeal to both men and women.   Half Moon Press said, "Carefully designed to offer privacy between the tables, but also the opportunity to observe the busy street scene on Broadway, or admire the works of local artists which line the walls, the room is relaxing and inviting".  Our food selections are not dainty – our sandwiches are filling, our scones substantial.  The New York Times said, "At Silver Tips, afternoon tea ($15) is generous".

We offer over 150 varieties of tea to meet the different foods, moods, palates and times of each day.   Each one is available hot or iced.  Selections range from robust breakfast teas to Formosa Oolongs, a large flavored tea section and, of course, Chai which is even offered as a Float, complete with whipped cream and ice cream!  We carry Rooibos and other non-caffeinated and decaffeinated teas and pride ourselves on only offering fresh, seasonal teas from each year’s selections.

Our sandwiches, soups, wraps and salads have a distinction and an uncommon taste.  The Egg Souchong sandwich uses a Smoked Tea marinade.  The vegetarian wraps have lentils rather than the usual grilled vegetables.  Our scones and samosas are the best there are!  Our food is substantial and different.  Westchester Magazine said, "…take our advice:  come hungry."
