New Artwork on the walls

CIMG1202We partner with the Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow Arts Council to showcase artwork by our local artists.  Sometimes they feature many artists, often just one.  Yesterday, the new artwork went up on the wall, featuring a young artist, Elena Grajek, who received her BFA from Alfred University's school of Art & Design last May and was awarded best Senior Show from the faculty.  The work is modern with wonderful use of light and color and our walls offer strong contrast to her work.  In her own words,
"I work in the mediums of digital print and video...My digital print process involves the combination of scanned drawings and paintings along with scanned objects to communicate themes surrounding childhood and relationships".
For those of you wondering how we have the nerve to hang pictures on our brand new walls, let us calm your nerves!  We use a picture rail from which we suspend the wires.  And notice how great our banquette and tables look against the wall.  As you can see, our Tea Room is coming along....
