Storm in Westchester

I didn't realize just how bad the storm was until our customers came in for a hot cup of tea and sustenance over the weekend because they had no power at home.  This was true for customers just up the hill in Tarrytown, in Hartsdale, Pelham and Yonkers.  Massive trees crashed down on power lines.  As I drove to the Tea Room in the afternoon, the devastation was striking - the beautiful reservoir around the lakes in Tarrytown had innumerable trees down, the Saw Mill River Parkway was inaccessible.  I had to detour to just get to the Tea Room.  One of our employees spent an hour and a half figuring out how to get to work.  I hear on the radio it could be days to get all the power back.  We will be open all week to offer hot tea and comfort.  Wednesday, 17th, Irish Breakfast and Celtic Cup on Special all day long.  Bring out the Irish in you.  It's also my Mom's birthday so it's a special week.
