Pu-erh YunnanWe've been getting more interest in Pu-erh teas, most likely because it's been in the media and once again, yet another tea deemed to be 'slimming'. Suddenly you see Slimming Pu-erh Tea, Pu-erh Chais, Pu-erh Earl Grey and the list goes on.  We just carry one kind at the Tea room - Pu-erh Tea Bricks. Authentic Pu-erh tea is from Yunnan, a province in the southwest area of China. If Pu-erh is too earthy for you, stick to one of our excellent Yunnan selections. These are strong, slightly earthy teas with a chocolate note.  If you like Assams or Breakfast teas, chances are you may appreciate the nuance of Yunnan teas.  And we have combined both in our house blend called Silk Road. Pu-erh and Yunnan tea prices are volatile, sometimes caused entirely by speculation.  Farms in Yunnan are large (similar to Assam) and produce 270,000 metric tons of tea a year and you can read more here about this area and its tea.
