Lily Yin Hao was our pick today to be added to our China Green section. Flowers have been used in China tea for years. They include Chrysanthemum, Orchid, Osmanthus, Jasmine, Lily, Amaranth, Rose, Lotus and others. Not only are they pleasing to the eye but they impart a subtle fragrance and taste to the cup. Although the term Yin Hao is more typically associated with Jasmine, it means 'silver hair' and this selection is a stylish, tightly twisted white-tipped green leaf with lily blossoms. We carry a wide variety of Greens - mellow, smoky, astringent, toasty - and our aim is to expand the category for our customers. Lily Yin Hao has no astringency whatsoever. It is naturally sweet in its fragrance and cup with a fruity, faintly woodsy note. The leaf above is taken from the first infusion but several infusions are recommended to appreciate the full nuances of the manufacture.
