Nilgiri is from the southern part of India and although less well-known than the Assam and Darjeeling regions in northern India, it produces a medium-body, brisk tea that is considered 'forgiving' and is enjoyed by millions as their daily cup. Nilgiri teas can be enjoyed as is without the addition of milk, sugar or lemon. They are not as strong as Assams and not as mild or floral as Darjeelings. They are the recommended tea of choice for flavored blends as well as Iced Teas in the summer.
Our Nilgiri is from Kundalay Estate, Certified Organic. This is a long-leaf style so be generous with the amount of leaf when you steep. It can be over-steeped without leading to bitterness.
