Earl Grey Fancy

A good robust black leaf tea flavored with Bergamot. No muss, no fuss. Just your classic Earl Grey at a great price. A nice full-bodied cup good with or without milk. The leaf style is long and elegant. The earl grey flavoring is aromatic and strong.
A tea that is flavorful but strong. Milk benefits it. A good Earl Grey
I agree with the earlier review concerning the bergamot - just right.
But, what makes this Earl Grey "Fancy" is the addition of a very floral fragrance. It makes the flavor flowery, almost sweet. There is nothing wrong, per se, with this tea but, for me, it was too floral.
I gave what I purchased to a friend and they LOVE it.
So - again - there is nothing wrong with this tea, it's just not for everyone (is anything?)
Our Earl Grey blends differ in the base of tea used for each. For example, Earl Grey Fancy uses a robust India Black tea, Earl Grey Imperial uses a milder Darjeeling base, Grand Earl Grey uses a Keemun and so on. The bergamot flavoring remains the same but the end result changes depending on the base flavor of the tea. Customers have their favorites, of course. What makes a tea 'Earl Grey' is the addition of bergamot flavoring.
Steeping Instructions
Use 1 tsp. of leaf per 8 oz. cup.
Pour boiling water over leaves.
Steep 3-4 mins.
Milk may be added.
Tea Education
What makes a tea Earl Grey? The addition of bergamot. This can be a flavoring or essence, usually in a liquid form which is then added to the base tea. In the case of Earl Grey Fancy, we start with a robust black tea from India which is then carefully blended with bergamot flavoring. That's it. This is our basic Earl Grey. Other more elegant formulations may have botanicals or white needles in them to enhance the aesthetic beauty. They don't add any additional taste. Bergamot is a very aromatic flavoring, usually fairly strong.

Let customers speak for us
from 388 reviewsOh gosh. I ain't got nuttin' to say. I love Silver Tips Tea. The company, the service, the variety of tea, all pretty darn perfect.
I am still enjoying my first purchase of Makaibari 2nd Flush 2025 - but HAD to order more when I saw the 20% off offer.
This tea is still giving me a wonderful flavor and aroma and I knew I would be buying more anyway.
For anyone hesitating to purchase ... this is a lovely tea - that even holds up really well with a little milk and sugar.
I strongly recommend it!!
My go to tea for that zen moment of sitting with a cuppa, warming your hands and taking in the somewhat citrusy aroma., anticipating the full yet mellow taste and feel of this tea. I had a stretch of not being able to find it ( my error) and I’m so happy to have it back in my cupboard and tea pot!
This is my go to morning cup. It is robust and well balanced; great with milk. Beautiful color.
One of my favorite teas, the grand keemun is one I'll keep rebuying.
I liked this tea. It's a nice, warm, playful afternoon tea when you need something extra. A bit sweet. If you don't have much of a sweet tooth, then you might not need to add any extra.
This brew basket was just what I needed! My old basket was not in good shape and when I tried to find a replacement, I couldn't find one I liked. This basket is it! And the price was great! I'll come back for another one when I wear this one out!!
Harmutty and Victoria's Cup are my two favorites. It makes my afternoon tea and event, a quite celebration.
My wife and I enjoy this oolong almost every afternoon. The flavor and fragrance are wonderful, and the tea buzz the first two days leaves us giggling. Do not over steep. Two and a half minutes the first day and 15 to 30 seconds more for the next steeping. We get 4 or 5 days. We allow the tea to cool quite a bit before drinking. 125 degrees and lower to 110 is our favorite temp. The velvety mouth feel is spectacular at this temperature. Listen to music, watch my wife paint and laugh, yup makes the afternoon perfect.
Been lovin' my Irish breakfast tea a long time. Thank you.
These are the best filters! They are long enough to keep your tea in the bag. No messy tea leaves in your cup of tea and they do not leave a funny taste.
This is the first tea I ever had in the Silver Tips tea room 20 years ago it was my introduction to your brand. I loved it then and I still love it! With a little milk and sugar it's a tasty treat! I highly recommend it! If you like coconut give it a try.
I love this tea in the morning with some milk and a teaspoon of hot chocolate mix. It's a perfect start to my day. My grandmother and aunt introduced me to this tea 20 years ago, and it's still one of my favorites!
I don't usually get Ceylon, but this one was on sale so I thought I would try it. It's a nice change of pace from my usual teas.
You can't go wrong with any of the Makaibari teas. This one is delicious
