Motivation

A good friend and regular customer of ours came in the other day and ordered a Wrap and an Iced Tea.  Not unusual really - that's a nice lunch.  We know she normally has the Afternoon Tea Service and perhaps a Soup but one can't be hungry all the time.  We didn't think anything of it until she volunteered the reason for her change of menu selection.  She said she was on a diet.  And her reason?  She wanted to make sure she would be allowed on to the Harry Potter rides at Disney!  I thought this couldn't possibly be true until I did a bit of research and found this little item online at AOL Weird News:
Universal Studios representatives did not return calls in time for AOL News' deadline, but the Orlando Sentinel reports that park officials have "instituted a screening system" requiring random park-goers to sit in "test seats" installed in the line area of the "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" ride.
Well, this is true motivation then.

FYI: I looked it up, and the ride was closed and renovated a year or two ago for a fresh new look. One of the rumors was that the boats had to be replaced because the average person is alot larger than he/she was years ago, and although Disney isnt saying this is the reason why the boats were bottoming out, that seems to be the general opinion. So wraps and Ice Tea for everyone!!

I was at the Tea Room and left about 1.30 to get back to watch the game. Alas, we lost! You’re right, they did re-design some seats! Isn’t that something. Sorry I missed you today.

Sorry I missed you today when I came in with my husband for lunch! I asked if you were away, since you hadn’t blogged in awhile! We thought maybe you were glued to the TV for the World Cup; too bad that didnt end differently today..
Anyway, as for the diet to get on a ride….. I had heard, and I dont know if it is true, that the It’s A Small World ride in Disney Land was discontinued because people had gotten so large that they couldnt get their butts into the boats!
